NOTD: Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants and OPI Pros & Bronze

DL WhateverLolaWants-OPI Pros&Bronze-3

[EDIT TO ADD on 5 Nov: Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants layered over solid colours.]

I decided to share an NOTD (Nails of the Day). After the strong and stark colours of the Faye Wong manicure, I wanted something simpler and “softer”. I was also thinking that a simple look would do as I was intending to remove it to do swatches the next day. I had to put that plan on hold though.

I liked this look so much and decided to keep it on for at least another day. Besides, I thought of removing it as I thought I should change my pedi as well, given that Halloween would be over. However, I am also liking my Halloween toes a lot, so that is staying on for at least another day too.

As for the mani colours, I chose Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants and OPI Pros & Bronze from the Serena Williams Collection. The main colour would be Whatever Lola Wants and Pros & Bronze would be the accent colour on both ring fingers, These are two lacquers that I really, really like because they are both so pretty!

Whatever Lola Wants is one of Lippmann’s celebrity collaboration. This was created with Kelly Ripa (I don’t know who she is, actually.) and is officially described as “sassy, sparkling lilac/lavender (sheer shimmer)”. To me, it is more pink than lilac/lavender. And the sparkles in there look like little diamonds.

Pros and Bronze is probably my favourite from the Serena Williams Collection. It is very unique. It is a cross between orange and bronze. It is a subtle duochrome with pink and yellow micro glitter in there. It looks like a foil finish, yet there is texture in there that makes it not a full-on foil. Just amazing sparkly goodness!

OPI Pros & Bronze

This is what they look like on the nails. I used three coats of each with Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat, which makes the sparkly beauties look even smoother and brighter.

Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants is meant to be sheer. I put on three coats not to get it opaque but to get a stronger pink. The sparkle in it is like crushed diamonds or glass crystals. I guess that what Lola wants is lots of beautiful diamonds. :)

It was really difficult to try to capture the glow of OPI Pros & Bronze. Also, I had initially thought it was an orangey bronze base. When I saw the photos up close, I realise it looks more like a clear base with very dense micro glitter. It was relatively sheer but three coats looked opaque enough.

One more look.

[EDIT TO ADD on 5 Nov]
As requested by Carina, I layered Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants over three solid colours. I used OPI Black Onyx, China Glaze Hey Sailor, and Zoya Mia. A black, a bright red, and a soft, neutral pink.

Just to give you an idea of these three colours on their own. I used two coats each for the black and red, but Mia needed a third coat because it was a tad sheer. All three applied smoothly.

The following photo shows one coat of Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants layered over the three cremes. It appeared more silvery and the pink in the bottle was not apparent.

I added a second coat of Whatever Lola Wants for this next photo. A more intense silvery shimmer, and a hint of pink has appeared.. Reminds of of A-England Morgan Le Fay, but Whatever Lola Wants has a somewhat softer effect. I really like it layered over Zoya Mia.
