Ozotic 513 and Glitter Gal Dark Purple

I love purple polish, and often buy purple lacquers that are very similar. As such, it is no surprise that I have two purple holographic lacquers on hand.
Other than having the same finish, they are both from Australian companies, Ozotic and Glitter Gal to be precise. And I am not the only one with a love for purple polish, for both colours are among the bestsellers of their respective brands.
As such, I decided to swatch them together for comparison. In addition, I also wanted to see how they look over a black base. Read on for the findings.
Ozotic 513 and Glitter Gal Dark Purple are both linear holographic polish. And, oh boy, is the holo strong! You can see it right in the bottles.
I swatched them in this order from left to right: Ozotic 513 over base coat; Ozotic 513 over OPI Black Onyx; Glitter Gal over base coat; Glitter Gal over OPI Black Onyx. I used three coats of each purple holo polish without top coat. They already had a smooth and very shiny finish on their own.
I took these photos at different angles to show the holographic effect.

L-R: Ozotic 513 (over base coat and over black base); and Glitter Gal Dark Purple (over base coat and over black base). [Indoors with flash]
Although both the Ozotic and Glitter Gal are dark purple, there is a slight difference between them. Ozotic 513 is slightly darker and Glitter Gal Dark Purple has a slightly stronger pink tinge.
Over the black base, both became deeper purple. I quite like the effect actually, especially since the holo effect remains just as strong. Just a black base and you get a different polish. Cost-saving method?

I also took this shot of just the two lacquers without the base coat to show the slight difference in tone. Still very similar and you’ll only need both if you are someone as crazy as I am
Both brands produce high quality holographic polish without the need for some special pricey base coat. So, if you are looking for some good holo polish, either brand would be a good place to start looking.
You can purchase Ozotic 513 from Star Trinkets.

Lovely comparison! Which one do you prefer?

Thanks, Priscilla! That's a really tough question to answer as both are very nice. In terms of application, I have to say I prefer the GG one a bit more. By price, the bigger bottle of Ozotic is probably a better deal.
