Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe Part 1

Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe

It’s Christmas Eve! I hope you’re all having a great start to Christmas!

As a Christmas special, I will be showing you Color Club’s Beyond the Mistletoe Holiday 2011 collection in two parts. I have the first three today and the other three on Christmas Day tomorrow.

Be prepared that this post is photo-heavy. You may also need to stand by your shades for these are really blingtastic lacquers!

The Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe collection is a six-colour glitter collection. Most of them contain holographic glitter and are really, really gorgeous!

Despite how gorgeous this collection is, I only learnt about it while looking for an e-tailer for Essie Luxe Effects. While I did have to pay quite a bit for shipping, each bottle still came to about half what I have been paying local e-tailers for Color Club, so it was a great deal over all.

The first half I’m showing you includes Candy Cane, Sugarplum Fairy, and Gingerbread. All the photos are with flash.

I applied two coats of each polish. Because of the sheer amount of glitter, there was some dragging so thicker coats seemed to work better. All three have clear bases and I applied them directly over base coat. I did not use a top coat for the photos. I did fnd that they do not dry as gritty as one would expect of such glitters.

Candy Cane has mainly medium pink glitter. It also has silver, vermillion, and a sprinkling of blue glitter.

Here is a close-up look at the glitter in the bottle. Look at that density!

And Candy Cane on the nail. This is blurred to show the sparkle.

Next, we have Sugarplum Fairy. This looks mainly silver with a tinge of lilac. It is also full of holo glitter! Really blinding, actually!

Just look at the close-up of the bottle! Doesn’t it look like the fairy lights on a Christmas tree?

The beauty is definitely not lost on the nail. It was so reflective, it was quite a challenge to photograph it.

This is one of my favourites from this collection.

This is when you’ll need your shades! Look at the holo goodness in this blurred photo!

The third glitter for today is Gingerbread, a colour I almost didn’t get. This is a relatively warm gold glitter with holo glitter. It is not as glittery as Sugarplum Fairy but it is definitely full of bling too!

The close-up shot does remind me of some Christmas confectionery full of dried fruit and nuts. It must be the name!

You can see that it is not short of reflective bits on the nail.

And in case you haven’t had enough, one final look at the three Color Club glitters!

As mentioned, the post on the other three will be up on Christmas Day tomorrow! Look out for them!

  • It is! And so dense I could not get much of a glitter gradient with it. Beyond the Mistletoe in tomorrow's post is similar but with a blue-green tinge.

  • I somehow missed this post. Of course I love candy cane because it's pink ;0). They all look great though.

  • MariJo: I love pink too :) I read on The PolishAholic that it's supposed to have holo glitter too, but it got “lost” in the pink. I didn't notice the holo at all! :p
