OPI Nicki Minaj: Fly and Did it on ‘em

A friend passed me a couple of vouchers for OPI recently. The thing is, they could only be used in the outlets run by the official distributor, which sells the polish at double the price offered by parallel importers. Still, since I was in the vicinity of one of these outlets, I stopped by to see if maybe they had the Kardashian Kolors from Nicole by OPI.
They didn’t. Instead, I found the entire Nicki Minaj collection! While I know a lot of people are anticipating the sparkly purple shatter, I really am not into shatter polish. I was, however, drawn to Fly and Did it on ‘em, so these were the two I got.
It’s not often that we get new collections of anything in Singapore earlier than their source countries. From the talk I’ve observed in Twitter, the Nicki Minaj collection is still not yet widely available in the US. As such, it is really an unusual treat that I could get hold of these two colours to share with you. In fact, I pushed back the RBL posts I had originally scheduled for this week so that I can show these swatches sooner!
I don’t listen to Nicki Minaj’s music but I’ve often seen her style discussed on Fashion Police. I really admire her confidence and ability to carry off the wild hair and costumes, I must say.
Enough talk. Let’s move on the the photos!
Formula wise, both were thin but not runny. While they were easy to apply, two thin coats still left some VNL (visible nail line). I used three coats for the photos with no top coat. Both had a shiny finish.
Did it on ‘em looks neon in this photo without flash, but it is not.
Fly is a medium blue-green creme. I’m not sure if this tone is considered teal, cyan, or something else. The closest colour I have to it is Picture Polish Marine, but Marine has more green. While I do like such colours, removing it left me with smurf fingers although I only wore it long enough to take the photos.
Did it on ‘em is a yellow-green creme. I believe most people wonder how similar it is to two colours from the Shrek collection, Fiercely Fiona and Who the Shrek are You?. Based on photos on other blogs, I believe Did it on ‘em is in between the two Shrek colours. It is more green than Fiercely Fiona but a lighter tone than Who the Shrek are You?.
I think these may be the only two colours I get from the Nicki Minaj collection. Much as I like purple polish, I doubt I will use the shatter much. Also, the bar glitter doesn’t appeal to me much so far, so I would probably give that a miss as well. As for the pink creme, I already have quite a bit of pink lacquers I don’t use much.
Have you already set your sights on any of the colours from this collection?

Fly looks great!!! Not too fond of the green color. I want Pink Friday badly because I'm a pink lover, lol. I'm actually a bit intrigued by the glitter also. I have nothing like it. Can't wait for these to come my way.
Thanks for sharing :0).

MariJo: I'll probably still check the others out when they become available from cheaper sources. The official source prices them way too high!
CaCa
wow you got them so quickly! I wonder whether you'd be getting the Holland collex soon too? that's the one I'm most looking forward to!
Fab Fingertips.
Love both of these, not sure the yellow would suit me though!

CaCa: I haven't seen the Holland collex but I wouldn't want to get them from the distributor due to the high price.
Esther: I wasn't sure about it too but the sales assistant had it on as a French pedi and it looked nice. It need not be a full mani/pedi if you find it doesn't work too well that way. Nail art, perhaps?
