All Hail the Queen for she is The Gold and the Beautiful
Another corny title for another combo to welcome 2012! But, hey, just trying to be positive here
So in my second post for 2012, I bring to you butter LONDON’s All Hail the Queen, and The Gold & the Beautiful from Wet n Wild Fast Dry series.
butter LONDON’s All Hail the Queen is a polish I’ve been wanting to get and I am so glad to have finally found a site that ships it here.
Wet n Wild The Gold & the Beautiful is another polish that Marisa from Polish Obsession sent to me.
On first look, butter LONDON All Hail the Queen looks like a regular taupe creme with some silvery shimmer. On closer look, that shimmer is actually holographic! It only shows up at certain angles, which is what I enjoy about it. It’s an office-appropriate polish with a hidden surprise!
The colours gets a little darker with additional coats. I used three in the photos but two would be enough. The polish dries very shiny and I didn’t use a top coat in the photos. All photos except the last were taken with flash.
Because the holo shimmer is quite subtle, I picked a few photos to show it at different angles.
The holo effect is more evident in this slightly blurred photo.
Next, I added one coat of Wet n Wild The Gold & the Beautiful. This was small gold glitter in a clear base. It’s my first time using a WnW polish. The brush is quite thick but, since this was a glitter polish, it wasn’t really an issue.
The overall effect of this combination reminds me of Exquis from the Dior Holiday 2011 collection, except that Exquis is a taupe with gold shimmer instead of glitter.
This photo without flash shows the glitter much better.
I hope you like this second “auspicious” combination I have for you to usher in 2012!
