A-England’s The Legend – Princess Tears

A-England Princess Tears

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you would know that I received a few colours from A-England‘s new collection, The Legend, today. I had ordered three in my first (Saint George, Bridal Veil, and Order of the Garter), and ended up ordering the rest in a subsequent order.

I was already very excited to be receiving these lacquers which I’ve been seeing lots of great swatches of. But when I opened the package to find that dear Adina had sent a complimentary bottle of Princess Tears, I was over the moon!

Since I had already intended to change my mani today, I decided to try on Princess Tears first. I have to speak to my big boss tomorrow so I decided to play safe with a softer colour.

The formula of A-England Princess Tears is great, like that of The Mythicals. It applied smoothly and can easily be a one-coater. I used two to ensure better coverage under the camera flash. There was no dragging, as can happen with similar holos. The polish dries shiny and I didn’t use a top coat for the photos.

Princess Tears is a light lavender with a strong linear holo. The holographic pigment in it makes it seem like the colour shifts to grey at certain angles. The holo is obvious even without flash.

Here are photos with flash. Again, you can see the strong linear holo.

My first reaction to Princess Tears was that it looks very much like Color Club Fashion Addict. They are similar but Princess Tears does have a stronger tinge of grey.

I can’t wait to try the other colours from The Legend. They all look amazing in the bottle! Have you got your hands on any colours from this collection yet?
