Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream

I think I have met my favourite polish from Deborah Lippmann! It’s the very gorgeous and unique Mermaid’s Dream from her Spring 2012 collection. When I saw this at the BeautyAsia Expo, I could have jumped for joy, for I had not expected it to be so easy to get hold of this.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream was inspired by the ocean and it really calls to the Piscean in me!

It has a glittery pastel turquoise base, with blue and gold micro glitter, and larger blue glitter. It is a litte sheer and I applied three coats to reach an opacity I was satisfied with. The finish is very metallic looking. This polish is definitely top coat hungry. I used one coat of A-England The Shield as my top coat and you can still see the grittiness. So if this bothers you, you’ll have to use a thicker top coat, and possibly two coats at that.

Because it was so metallic and shiny, I had a really tough time trying to capture it on camera. My amateur photography skills prevent me from showing you better photos but I still wanted to show you this polish anyway. So, please bear with me. Just two photos anyway.

I tried using flash but the reflection was pretty strong.

Have you found/bought Mermaid’s Dream yet? If you’re into such colours, I really think you shouldn’t pass this up. I’ve not come across anything quite like it so far.
