piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade and Ozotic Elytras

piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade and Ozotic Elytras

piCture pOlish recently launched a new range of colours they named the Opulance range. They kicked it off with three colours – Mask-a-rade, Monroe, and Peacock.

While all three are beautiful in their own way, I think Mask-a-rade got a little more attention, especially with the frequent comparisons to the Elytra colours from fellow Aussie brand, Ozotic.

As such, I decided to compare them for myself in this mani featuring piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade and Ozotic 528, 529, & 530.

Some bloggers have commented that Mask-a-rade looks like all three of the Ozotic Elytras together. So what I did was to layer one coat each of all three over black on my ring finger, and then layer two coats of Mask-a-rade over black for the other nails.

I contemplated doing three layers of Mask-a-rade to match the three coats of the Elytras, but I didn’t. It already looked great at two coats, so I didn’t want to overuse this beauty.

The black creme base I used was A-England Camelot. I had top coat on for the photos.

piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade has a sheer black base with small multi-coloured glitter that shifts colours. There’s a mix of green, purple, blue, bronze, and red glitter. Together, Ozotic 528, 529 & 530 have the same colours in glitter of the same size.

The Ozotic Elytra shades are among the Ozotic 500 series shades that are being discontinued. If you have yet to get them, you may want to hurry up and get them from the stockist nearest you. This series is currently on sale on the piCture pOlish site and with their Network Members.

If you’re unsure which of the Elytras to get, then you should consider Mask-a-rade as it’s basically a 3-in-1 of the Elytras!

You can purchase piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade, Ozotic 528, Ozotic 529, and Ozotic 530 from Star Trinkets.

  • Wow can't tell them apart. I've got two of the Elytras and the other on the way so will have to try this. I did look at getting Masqueraid together with Munroe and Peacock but read aom so-so reviews re formula. What did you make of the formula of Maskarade?

  • Hi Kate! I didn't have any particular issues with both Mask-a-rade and the Ozotics. I just applied them normally. I can't comment about wear time though as I only wore it for one day.

  • Great comparison! They look really close!! This reminds me of The Hungry Asian's Twenty Ten, which I just tried.

  • I like sparkling nails.
I can't tell the difference either.

  • I think if I'd added a third coat of Mask-a-rade, they'll look even more alike. I don't recall what The Hungry Asian's looks like.

  • I'm all for sparkly nails!
