Jade Mystic Gold, Energy, and Fascinio Violeta
Before I show you the photo spam of my Jade holos, I wanted to share the reason I did this holo skittles mani. Tomorrow night, I’ll be going for the Grasshoppers’ concert at Resorts World Sentosa, and I’m really excited!
For the benefit of my many non-Chinese readers, the Grasshoppers are a pop group from Hong Kong that has been around for almost 30 years! This male trio started as dancers for the legendary Anita Mui before they went on to release their own albums as a group. Coming from a dancer background, their hits are naturally mostly dance pieces. Nevertheless, they have some really timeless ballads too.

There are two important things I want to share. They are related, hence I chose to put them together in the same post.
After weeks of trial-and-error, customising, editing photos, testing, populating the listings, and getting feedback from some of my most supportive friends in the nail polish community, I am happy to share that the all-new Star Trinkets shop is open!

Today, I have for you NARS Purple Rain, which I layered with Million Lacquers PurpShim on my ring finger as an accent. There’s a story behind each polish. If you don’t care to know, just go straight to the next photo!

When I first saw swatches of the Nails Inc Sprinkles collection, I knew I had to get them. There are four shades in the collection. I tried to be good and ordered only two – Sweets Way and Pudding Lane. After trying them, I caved in and ordered the other two, which are on their way to me now! Very excited about that!
This is a collection of a finish sometimes described as creamy glitter, and which produce a look like a glitter jelly sandwich.

I’ve never tried sponging on nail polish before. However, after The Nailasaurus’ tutorial on a sponged gradient, as well as the many photos from others, I decided I had to try the sponged gradient for myself.
I wasn’t quite sure what kind of sponge I had ready to use. I’d read that some people use an eyeshadow applicator. Since I had a pack of cheap eyeshadow applicators sitting around (because they weren’t so good for applying eyeshadow), I decided to try one of those. Read on for the outcome.

Today’s post is not on nail polish but is one of my occasional posts on the arts scene in Singapore.
The following is from the press release for The Hossan Leong Show 2012, which will open on 30 Aug at the Drama Centre Theatre. Read on if you’ll like to know more details.
[EDIT TO ADD on Sep 9]
I’m not going to write a proper review this time. I just have this to say – this year’s show is worth watching just to see Hossan Leong pole dance on stage! This skinny Singapore Boy has some solid muscles! There was too much toilet humour but I do appreciate that they’ve kept the political satire to a minimum.
