Launch of Star Trinkets Shop and ManGlaze Lesbihonest & ILF

There are two important things I want to share. They are related, hence I chose to put them together in the same post.
After weeks of trial-and-error, customising, editing photos, testing, populating the listings, and getting feedback from some of my most supportive friends in the nail polish community, I am happy to share that the all-new Star Trinkets shop is open!
You can access it at www.startrinkets.com or www.startrinkets.com.sg. Payment is via PayPal. Customers in Singapore can also opt to pay via bank transfer.
Currently, I have most settings for the jewellery and accessories listed. I also have a new line of nail polish – ManGlaze – listed.
This is still the soft launch period. I definitely intend to add more items later but they’re not ready to be listed now. Hopefully, this soft launch period will allow me to identify any possible issues with the use of the site, while I continue to also work on new items to list.
I have a special promotion during the soft launch. From now until 8 July 2012, you can get 10% off orders of S$20 and above. This applies only to the Star Trinkets handmade jewellery and accessories, as well as Star Trinkets lacquer. It does not apply to ManGlaze and other nail lacquer brands I may list during this period. It also does not apply to shipping charges. The coupon code to use is “STLAUNCH10″.
And now we move to the second part of this post. As I mentioned earlier, I will be selling ManGlaze on Star Trinkets. And so, I have swatches of two of their colours for you -Lesbihonest and ILF. At the end of the post, I will also have a little treat for you!
ManGlaze is a line of matte nail polish from the US. They are known not just for their quality products, but also for the naughty names and excellent label art.
Each bottle of ManGlaze polish comes in a sealed plastic bag and placed in a box.
First up is Lesbihonest, a shimmery fuchsia. Check out the cheeky label art!
Since I had two colours to try, I used one on each hand, with a ring finger accent of the other colour. On my right hand, I wore Lesbihonest with an ILF accent.
I’ve not used a matte polish for a while and didn’t know what to expect with the application. It dries quickly and any unevenness can easily show up. I found it best to ensure there wasn’t too much excess polish on the brush.
Lesbihonest was almost a one-coater but I did a second coat to even out my relatively amateurish first coat. I love that the shimmer in it gives it depth and texture.
Next, we have ILF. I never thought I would say anything remotely close to this on my blog, but that stands for I’d Like to F***. It’s basically MILF without the M, and could hence refer to anyone else.
And look at that label art!
ManGlaze ILF’s colour is described as seafoamy. It’s a sort of dusty blue-toned green. Somehow, the silver shimmer in it didn’t want to play nice with the camera. It looks more green IRL than what my photos seem to show. I really love this colour!
This was a bit more sheer than Lesbihonest and I definitely needed two coats.
And here’s the good news! Readers of The Subtle Shimmer can get S$1 off each bottle of ManGlaze polish ordered on Star Trinkets with the code “MGTSS” (without the quotation marks, of course). This would be ongoing until advised otherwise. You can use this code in conjunction with the discount code for the soft launch since the latter does not apply to ManGlaze.
One thing you’ll need to note is that I have been advised by my supplier to only send ManGlaze lacquers by surface mail or other shipping methods approved for nail lacquer. As such, orders that include ManGlaze lacquers will be sent by surface mail. This will not affect customers in Singapore.
Phew, that brings us to the end of this post! I hope to continue to get your support over at the Star Trinkets shop. Thank you!
