piCture pOlish Swatch-a-thon Part 2

Hot on the heels of the first part of my piCture pOlish swatch-a-thon, here’s the second part with another eight shades. Will there be a third part, etc? Perhaps, but not today for sure.
For this batch, I did two-finger swatches. This was has so that I can swatch more shades within a limited time, while there was still reasonable daylight. We’ve been getting quite a bit of rain recently, so there was no telling when the skies were going to get gloomy.
Read on for the details and photos.
The first shade I have is piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac. This is a really dark purple shimmery polish, not unlike NARS Purple Rain. As such, if you haven’t got Purple Rain, you could consider Aphrodisiac instead.
This was one of those purple shades that insist on appearing blue in photos. I had to do serious colour adjustment to get it to look closer to the actual shade. Pardon the red skin. My skin definitely does not look like that!
This was a breeze to apply. One coat was enough for opaque coverage. I used two coats here but the second was not necessary. No top coat. Oh, and don’t you just love the name?
piCture pOlish Jade is a minty green creme with silver shimmer. Of course, the green is also similar to certain types of jade. The polish is rather creamy and the first coat can be a bit uneven. A second coat should give you a smooth finish. No top coat used.
The shimmer is quite obvious in person, but I did not manage to capture it under natural light.
The base colour is a tad washed out when flash is used, but the shimmer now becomes more obvious.
I’ve had piCture pOlish Jealousy for months but did not get round to using it. The moment I tried it, I fell in love! It’s full of micro glitter of different shades of green. There’s also silver in there. The glitter is so dense that I cannot tell what colour the base is. This is such a sparkly polish! I used two coats, with no top coat.
piCture pOlish Popsicle is another amazing glitter polish. It has a orange jelly base with lots of small gold glitter. This really reminds me of an orange flavoured popsicle! How aptly named!
The jelly base means there’s still some VNL with two coats. Not a big issue though. Again, no top coat.
piCture pOlish Sparkle is a really special polish. It has this silvery base that is somewhat pearly, and it is full of small multi-colour glitter. The glitter is mainly blue and gold, and there’s some red too. I don’t think I’ve come across a similar polish
The pearly base means you can get some brush strokes, but the glitter makes it less obvious. Again, two coats with no top coat.
I took the photo with flash at an angle as the silvery polish kept reflecting the flash.
Here’s another piCture pOlish neon shade that I love. Sunset is a coral neon creme. Hard to capture the intensity of the neon but this photo without flash is quite close to the actual colour. I used two coats, no top coat.
Not colour-accurate with flash but just for reference.
piCture pOlish Vampire is a deep burgundy jelly. I can’t think of another jelly from piCture pOlish so this may well be the only one at present. It is, as expected of a jelly, sheer and squishy. I used four coats for the photos.
piCture pOlish Wisteria is a bright lilac creme. This is like the colour of the Wisteria flower, its namesake. Very pretty purple, and an easy creme to apply. Two coats here, with no top coat.
piCture pOlish shades are now available on Star Trinkets at http://www.startrinkets.com/en/shop-2/category/nail-lacquer/picture-polish/, along with Ozotic and ManGlaze matte nail polish, some franken materials, and of course my handmade jewellery and accessories.
There is currently a Welcome Back Promotion for piCture pOlish and Ozotic, and each polish is S$1.00 less (S$15.50 or S$18.00, depending on the range). This promotion will end on 22 July 2012. I ship internationally from Singapore.
