Cult Nails Untamed Collection

Amidst all the excitement of the launch of Amethyst and the other new piCture pOlish shades, I forgot I had yet to post on the latest Cult Nails shades – Coco’s Untamed Collection. Polish design must run in the blood for Maria and her brood. The Untamed Collection was designed by her 13-year-old daughter, Coco. Despite her age, I must say there is something in this five-shade collection for Culties of various age groups.
Firstly, I have to say I was most disappointed that a turquoise flakies that Coco mixed earlier in the year did not make it into this collection. I was looking forward to that and I’m not alone in that. That said, the shades that did make it are beautiful too.
Here are the shades altogether, in my usual skittles.
I’ll share the first four in alphabetical order and leave the holo glitter to the end.
Annalicious is named for Coco’s BFF, Anna. It is an orange-toned red with gold and red micro glitter. It does remind me of piCture pOlish Vegas.
Cult Nails Annalicious is pretty opaque. I used two coats here, topped with Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I know you can see some VNL but that’s because of the camera flash.
The red looks a little darker at a different angle.
And a macro bottle shot
Next, we have Deal With It, a bright lime green with gold shimmer. I love this green! I used three coats of this and each coat added to its intensity. It dries a little matte. Again, with Wicked Fast top coat.
Slightly blurred, which shows the beautiful gold shimmer.
And a macro bottle shot.
The third colour is Spontaneous, a dusty purple creme with bright purple micro glitter. I was a bit surprised at this particular shade of purple being included as it does seem a tad mature for Coco’s 13-year-old. As a lover of purple polish, I’m definitely glad it’s part of the collection!
This was a pigmented shade and I used two coats, with Wicked Fast. The glitter doesn’t show up well in the photos, unfortunately.
The purple of the glitter shows up better in this blurred photo.
And in the bottle.
A collection by a 13-year-old could hardly be complete without a pink, and a bubblegum pink at that! Cult Nails Untamed is such a pretty pink and it has this multi-coloured shimmer that makes it even more interesting! Sadly, the shimmer was very camera-shy.
Untamed is rather sheer and there was some VNL even with three coats. It applied easily though. Again, shown with Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
And in the bottle. Still couldn’t capture the colours.
And we come to the conversation piece of this collection – I Got Distracted. This is a black polish filled with micro holographic glitter and green hex glitter. This just sparkles when the light hits it. I literally got distracted with it when the morning sun hit it. I didn’t have my camera then and didn’t manage to get a photo of it.
Because of the density of the glitter, this polish is rather thick. It isn’t too hard to work with though. It also dries a little matte. Top coat will take care of that, as well as intensify all that sparkle!
Look at the sparkles in this blurred photo! Definitely distracting!
You can see more of the green hex in the macro bottle shot.
Some of these shades are now Limited Edition as Cult Nails is going to phase out some shades, so that they can continue to produce new ones. I hope you didn’t miss out getting those you want at the recent sale!
I shall end with another shot of the five shades together.
