piCture pOlish recently released five new glitters: Ariel’s Tale, Gene Doll, Mardi Gras, Ruby Blou, and Splash. I haven’t seen many swatches around, so I decided that I would swatch all five of them!
All five are glitter in a clear base, and meant to be layered over a base polish. Naturally, I chose piCture pOlish shades. Both coincidentally and intentionally, the names of the pairs are somehow related. The shades are, of course, available for purchase on Star Trinkets. Read on for the details!Continue reading»
Recently, piCture pOlish reformulated one of their popular Opulence shades, Monroe. With the introduction of the new formula, the old one has, as expected, been discontinued. Naturally, those who have the “old” Monroe would wonder if there is any reason to also get the new one. As such, I decided to do a comparison of both the old and new formulations as part of Holothon.Continue reading»
I recently started selling several shades from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer on Star Trinkets. I have in stock all seven of their Fall 2012 shades. Today, I’ll like to show you Autumnesque, a colour that clearly says “autumn is here”. Well, for those of you who live in places which are currently experiencing autumn, at least. In any case, Pomegranate Autumnesque is one of those classic shades that I see as suitable for all seasons.Continue reading»
Polish Days is here again! The theme for October is Sentimental, so it’s pretty much anything goes, as long as it features polish with a special meaning to you.
I thought long and hard over this. I can’t remember my first polish or even the first polish that started the whole hoarding thing I have going on now. I considered the first polish I was asked to review – Glitter Gal Lizard Belly – which would have fitted right in with Holothon as well, but that doesn’t have any additional sentimental meaning other than that.
Finally, I decided I should pick shades from Ozotic, the brand that started me on my current entrepreneurship venture! But which to pick? This wasn’t too difficult. I would use the shades from my very first sale: Ozotic 505 and 528, purchased by Michelle from The Polish Well. [Thank you, Michelle! It makes it even more meaningful for me to send you samples for review!] In addition, these two shades were also included in my very first Ozotic order from piCture pOlish, a company that has been very friendly and supportive since I first communicated with them.Continue reading»
Today’s the last day of the 30-Day Challenge! Oh.My.Goodness! I made it to the end!
Now, when I started on the Challenge, I thought I might do the 31st day as well, which is to re-create one of the looks. I’ll not be doing that as I’ll be moving on to do a Holothon in October with Inky Polisholicious. As such, this is the last post for the 30-Day Challenge.
Today’s theme is Inspired by a Tutorial. It wasn’t too easy deciding on a tutorial to base today’s look on. I don’t usually look too closely at tutorials unless I intend to try for myself. As such, I’ve already tried many of the techniques and looks I’ve seen in tutorials.
In fact, I was looking out for tutorials I could use. I thought I would try out PishPosh and Polish’s tutorial on needle marble. And, out of the blue, I realised I’d forgotten I’d been wanting to try a ruffles mani since I saw the Ruffle Manicure Tutorial by Chalkboard Nails!Continue reading»
Day 17: Glitter. I’m surprised that ‘Glitter’ would be a theme in this part of the Challenge, where it’s pretty much all nail art and techniques. Maybe it’s to give a breather? I have to say it certainly did.
That said, it’s still not easy, for, which glitter to use? I have so many untried glitters that I really didn’t know where to begin.
In the end, I picked Estessimo TINS The Special Invitation and one of my own creations, Star Trinkets Fountains o’ Roses.Continue reading»
