Today’s post is not on nail polish but is one of my occasional posts on the arts scene in Singapore.
The following is from the press release for The Hossan Leong Show 2012, which will open on 30 Aug at the Drama Centre Theatre. Read on if you’ll like to know more details.

I’m not going to write a proper review this time. I just have this to say – this year’s show is worth watching just to see Hossan Leong pole dance on stage! This skinny Singapore Boy has some solid muscles! There was too much toilet humour but I do appreciate that they’ve kept the political satire to a minimum.
My second sharing in the category ‘Of Songs and Stories’. This is another local production, except that, unlike Into the Woods, this is an entirely local script. In fact, it is so local that someone new to Singapore would have real difficulties understanding the many insider jokes.
As you can see from the title and picture, I am of course referring to The Hossan Leong Show. This is the third year that this show has been staged (hence Episode 3). I did not watch the first two, so I would not be able to provide any comparison. The materials are new definitely and include multiple references to many key recent social and political news and events in Singapore.Continue reading»
