Where I Shop
Other than buying nail polish from departmental and retail stores, I also buy a lot of my nail polishes online (most of it, in fact). Many popular US and UK nail polish brands do not have official retail spaces in Singapore. For those that do, the prices tend to be high and/or the range of products tend to be rather limited. Over the past few months, I have found and tried quite a few online stores or local blog shops.
When shopping online, the reliability of the merchant is always a major concern, particularly when you have to supply your credit card and other personal details. In addition, strict export regulations mean many companies and mail forwarding services do not ship nail polish internationally. As such, I thought it would be useful to share a list of online stores that I have used and found reliable, as well as any that caused my grief.
I will update this list as I explore other online stores.

ONLINE STORE THAT CAUSED ME GRIEF
lookfantastic.com –> Don’t waste your time on this site. Terribly unreliable.
- My first order was still not shipped after two weeks. Multiple attempts to contact them got a response only after days. Their explanation was that one of the products was out-of-stock, something I would expect a merchant to take the initiative to inform me of. In the first place, that product should not have been available for ordering. I asked for a refund.
- I decided to give the site a second chance by placing a small order again. My order was apparently shipped out on 5 July. At the time of writing this post, it’s been more than three weeks and I still have not received it. I ordered other things from other international sites after this order and most of them have arrived.
- Although this seems to be the only site that ships butter LONDON, I will definitely not be ordering from them again.
